Greenhouse Challenge is an open innovation platform that helps organisations identify and adopt climate tech solutions.
Building a diverse and thriving ecosystem
People are at the heart of every community, and the diverse actors in our ecosystem create more value than the sum of their parts.
Through consultation we identified eight distinct groups that together create the climate action ecosystem, we then further broke these down further to a cascading view to show that everybody has a role to play.

A global effort to accelerate innovation in large-scale solar.
The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) is sponsoring this global challenge to accelerate innovation in large-scale solar.
This challenge aims to:
- Ultra low-cost solar (ULCS): We aim to reduce the installed cost of solar to just AU 30 cents per watt by 2030, and achieve a levelised cost of electricity below AU $20 per megawatt hour.
- Significant scale: We aim to ramp up our annual installation rate in Australia from 5 gigawatts today to 50 gigawatts per year, so that we can increase Australia's capacity to 1 terawatt (1,000 gigawatts) by 2050.
